Alzheimers Magnificat  - Bro. David Kaczmarek, T.O.R.  2004

Bro. David is a franciscan friar, TOR seminarian studying for the priesthood. He is taking a course this summer in CPE "Certified Pastoral Education Program" at Fairview Ebenezer Nursing Facility in Minneapolis, MN. His days are very busy but has had some time for reflection that has yielded two poems.

All Rights Reserved Kaczmarek, David, Bro.

My soul proclaims God's glory

My spirit exults the Lord

Who favored a lowly servant

All people will call me blest.

God has done good for me;

God's mercy lasts forever.

God has shown a strong arm

and has scattered the conceited;

God has pulled rulers from thrones

and has lifted up the lowly.

God has filled the hungry,

but given the rich nothing.

God has aided a servant,

in remembrance of God's mercy.

Bro. David Kaczmarek, T.O.R.  2004

Do you know my story?

Can you hear my word?

I'm lowly too, and bent.

... and holy is the name of God.

Where will I find rest?

I can only see darkly ...

Can you turn my page?

... and holy is the name of God.

Protect me from harm.

Who has pride anymore?

Why am I Alone?

I'm lowly too, and bent.

... and holy is the name of God.

Will you feed me?

Am I anything?

What's my name?

Do you remember me?

... and holy is the name of God.
