Franciscan Friars - Third Order Regular - Province of the Immaculate Conception: Vocations

After appropriate discernment and entrance requirements are met, one is admitted to the following phases of formation:

POSTULANCY:

Designed to help the candidate discern the Third Order Regular Franciscan way of life
1-2 years
Gradual introduction into religious life
Includes religious and educational formation
Live-in experience

NOVITIATE:

Focuses on Franciscan formation
More intensive reflection and discernment
Emphasis on discernment, deepening one's interior life, and study of history and spirit of Order
At conclusion, the novice professes temporary (or simple) vows of poverty, chastity and obedience
