Today Clare is considered by many scholars to be significant to the Franciscan founding experience as is Francis.

The founding experience, moreover, did not complete the picture of Franciscan life.

The movement of the Spirit has resulted in development and a changing emphasis which combine to form the branches and flowering of the tree.

These are the various expressions of the Franciscan way of life for men and women throughout the world.
