Representative Joe Mullery recently asked
Br. John Kerr, T.O.R.
to offer the opening prayer at a session of the Minnesota House of
Representatives.

Most of you had the joy of meeting our two TOR brothers from Sri
Lanka at the Province retreat this year.� Fr. Jude Perera and Fr.
Gregory Silva began a new semester at St. John�s School of Theology
in Collegeville, MN on August 26.� They have been such a delightful
addition to the formation community that it was hard to see them
go.� We correspond with them regularly and bring them home as often
as their school schedule (and gas prices!) allow.� Both are enrolled
full-time.� Jude, in addition to his core courses, has designed an
independent study program on the Easter Vigil and will be meeting
with a Latin tutor.� Gregory, whose concentration is scripture, has
included Greek and Hebrew among his other classes.� This semester
they are living in the monastery.� Drop them an encouraging word:

On August 7th, at
the Province Retreat held at Priest Field Pastoral Center,
Kearneysville, WV, John Vanderheyden was affiliated to the Order at
the request of our Province.
John has been a
financial advisor to our Province for over 10 years.� John is
currently a member of the Financial Advisory Committee.
In attendance at
the affiliation were John�s parents and his wife, Mary.
John said that he
was very humbled and honored to receive this affiliation.� John
joins the following who were affiliated by our Province:� Ligia
Lusardi, Bishop James Raush, Bishop James Hogan, James Lynch,
Monsignor Paul Lenz, James Schmidhammer, and Patricial Pyo.
